What is Active Voice?
The form of action/ sentence that the subject is a doer
What is Passive Voice?
The form of action / sentence that the subject is done by the others or is effected from the verb. It usually includes "by" in the sentence.
- My car was stolen
- I was taught by my mother to be kind to people.
- A letter is written by Mary.
Examples of active and passive voice divided by tenses.
Present
Simple:
Active Voice -- I teach him.
Passive Voice -- I am taught by him.
Continuous:
Active Voice -- I am teaching him.
Passive Voice -- I am being taught by him.
Perfect:
Active Voice -- I have taught him.
Passive Voice -- I have been taught by him.
Past:
Simple:
Active Voice -- I taught him.
Passive Voice -- I was taught by him.
Continuous:
Active Voice -- I was teaching him.
Passive Voice -- I was behing taught by him.
Perfect:
Active Voice -- I had taught him.
Passive Voice -- I had been taught by him.
Future:
Simple:
Active Voice -- I will teach him.
Passive Voice -- I will be taught by him.
Continuous:
Active Voice -- I will be teaching him.
Passive Voice -- I will be taught by him.
Perfect:
Active Voice -- I will have taught him.
Passive Voice -- I will have been taught by him.

- V2 of teach is taught
- No passive voice used in perfect continuous tense.
