Structure of Past Continuous Tense

Subject + was + were + V ing + (Object)

When do we use Past Continuous Tense?

When there are two situation happened in the past. The one that occur first uses past perfect and the later one uses past simple.

  • I was doing my homeworkd when Kathy knocked the door.
  • Were you having dinner at 9 p.m. last night?
  • John was not watching TV when I arrived last night.
